Wangechi Mutu
Above is a collage, which is a shot from the animated video called The End of eating Everything by Wangechi Mutu. This picture is very powerful and I was very drawn in by the darkness of the picture as well as the girl herself. I watched the video and found it very different but in a good way. The movement of the girl along with the birds flying back and forth make this piece very interesting.

NAPP tutorials
For this assignment we had to pick two tutorials to follow from the NAPP website. This top picture was originally a picture of a vampire looking actor and I followed a tutoria by Corey Barker to create a cool effect using the type tool. I used the plue symbol( + ) and made a brush with it and drew on his face and the background. I think that this turned out very well.
My second one was working with mirrors and I chose Stephanie as my model to pose in the mirror. Using layer maks and the brush tool you can easily create this effect. Look closely...her eyes are open in mirror but not outside of the mirror.

money money money
This is the front and back of my creation of the two dollar bill. For this assignment we had to recreate a dollar bill for American currency. I chose to incorporate the statue of liberty and the bald eagle because they both are symbols of America,
This is another bill that I made a ten dollar bill. This was not my favorite design because it doesn't look as put together in my opinion, but I wanted to add red white and blue into it some how and i like the side with the american flag and the statue of liberty better than the side with the white house.

PANOGRAPH
For this assignment we had to create a panograph which is creating one large panorama like image from many pictures. I love the scene in my driveway during the fall. The sun shines through all of the trees whose leaves have turned vibrant orange and yellow. I took about 30 pictures from one spot and morphed them all together to create one big picture. I rotated pictures to make it more interesting looking because when I made it a straight line it looked too boring.

Ripple Effect
For this assignment we had to use a tutorial made by Blue Lightning TV to make a ripple effect on one of our images. I chose to use a picture of my grandparents water buffalo that are in greenwood. This was a very cool tutorial because there was no water in the original picture.

Poster Designs
For this assignment we had to create two different posters for any school function that we wanted. I decided to create a poster advertising the themes of spirit week. I wanted to keep the poster simple so for every grade I used a black fill on the image to create a simple yet professional look to it. This poster took me many tries to create something that I was proud of. I started by having too much empty space and then got to the point where the poster was too busy, Finally I found a good balance of space and ended up with a completely different poster than i started out with. My second poster was to advertise the home football game against Albemarle. This is one of our biggest rivals and everyone loves western so I made sure to add lots of blue and gold.

Black and White
Copying the ideas that artist Jerry Uelsmann uses to create composite black and white images, I mixed together three scenes from my summer. The picture of the river was taken on Vermont summer night by a swimming hole. The next image I used was the image of the bridge that I took in Mendocino, California by the ocean. For the last of the three I chose a picture of the grand finale at firework show in crozet.
